A lil bit about me and my CrossFit beginnings

I started teaching fitness at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in 1997 and never looked back. My love for merging fitness & wellness grows every year. I am a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit,a CrossFit Trainer  and most importantly Mommy to a beautiful lil red headed girl. Mother's Day 2009I am a Registered Nurse with 11yrs in the Intensive Care Unit with a cardiac focus. Currently I am the Coordinator for a Cardiac Valve program, a Crossfit Trainer and most importantly Mommy to a beautiful lil’ red headed girl. I was a fitness instructor for over 10 years and Personal Trainer for a number of years. In 2008 I was provided the blessing of some soul searching & was introduced to Crossfit. It allowed me to “find myself” again. We all know what we are made of down deep sometimes we just loose sight of it. My first month of Crossfit was earth shattering & my biggest physical transformation yet! Everyday the challenge was different, but the trainers instilled FAITH and GRIT in me. In May 2009 I earned my Crossfit Level 1 Certification and began the journey to coach & train the phenomenal sport of fitness that changed my life. That summer was packed full of Crossfit. In May I competed in the Hell’s Half Acre SW Regional Qualifier for the 2009 CF Games. I had only been doing CF for 5 months it was a huge learning experience for me – I walked away with some serious life lessons that weekend. In July 2009 I was honored to be a member of the CrossFit Texas Affiliate Team at the 2009 CrossFit Games. These WOD’s were gut checks to say the least, but again it was something I never imagined and it was HAPPENING!!!! I strive to spread the love of wellness – physical AND mental in everyone that will listen. I have been able to share this great sport with my daughter and teach her that being active is an everyday part of life! One thing we can continue to do side-by-side!

  1. Love your blog! This is my first time posting. I had my 2nd baby and hit 34 this year and your blog is great encouragement for me now and down the road. I love that you are a mom committed to your child and a healthy life style. I have been into CF since 2009, but had to take a year off to have my son. (silly dr wouldn’t let me lift) I was right back into the box when my little man was 5 1/2 weeks. Going to the box is my 4 year old daughters favorite part of the day and my son is now almost 7 months and he is our box baby. My coach has even coached WODs while giving him a bottle so that I can get my workout in. I appreciate your honest posts and that you are encouraging women to get fit. I also wanted to share something my husband and I have been working on to make sure we can wod and not lose our jewelry. I would appreciate any feedback! Thank you and keep up your blog…I love it!
